The reddish/oxidized texture is characteristic of natural copper when it is cooled down from red-hot temperature using cold water, technique that the copper-smiths use. The border is rounded.This copper sink was made from one sheet of copper, raised with the artist hammer, there are no one welded joints, the drops are pulled out of the copper sheet itself.Hammering the red-hot copper is an ancient technique the copper-smiths use, where no sophisticated tools are used, just the furnace to heat the copper and a hammer to give it the shape. We got this bathroom copper sink from the skilled copper-smiths from Santa Clara del Cobre, Mexico. The finish is in a dark brownish color.
